Delicious Sapa Sui Recipe from Nickson's Nana (Samoan Chop Suey)

Name a better duo...

To celebrate Samoan Language Week, Nickson made Sapa Sui with his nana and this is gonna be the most wholesome video you've watched today or let's say month.

Check out Nickson's nana's recipe for Sapa Sui aka Samoan Chop Suey.

Ingredients:

  • Longkou Vermicelli
  • Diced Pork
  • Sungold Soy Sauce
  • Chopped onion
  • Cup of Water
  • Oil
  • White Pepper
  • Salt

Method:

  1. Put a cup of water in a pot and add the diced meat. Then fry it on high heat.
  2. Soak the vermicelli in warm water to soften it - like Nana said, don't remove the string yet
  3. Add salt to the meat in the pot
  4. Add oil and then the chopped onions
  5. Add the soy sauce, and then followed by the garlic and ginger paste.
  6. Remove the string from the vermicelli and now cut it into shorter pieces
  7. Add the shorter vermicelli to the pot.
  8. Optional - add soy sauce based on your preference.

Make sure to stir the pot after every step, so the flavours mix around well and don't burn.

When it comes to the amount of salt or soy sauce you put in, like Nana said, 'go by how you feel'.
